The project

The spirit that Feudi di San Gregorio enlivens could not take her to look outside her original boundaries: a project with which the company wants to return – in different territorial contexts of Irpinia – the true experience always in great respect of the local tradition. Thus our landing in Vulture in Basilicata and in the area of Manduria in Puglia.

Vulture

In Vulture, Feudi di San Gegorio landed in the mid 90’s to implement a specific project: to increase knowledge of Aglianico – which seems to have seen the true light in the splendid land – and spread that around the world.
The vineyards are located in the commune of Barile – the heart of the recent DOCG Aglianico del Vulture – rise up on a lava slope, bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk. An old planting, on its own roots, among century-old olive trees, still conserves the traditional training system, by now, extinct, an overhead design.

Manduria

The area of Manduria, in the province of Taranto, hugs the high Apulian plains that end as the sea rises; its origins, shrouded in myth, dating back to the Phoenicians about 1500 years before the coming of Christ.
The traditional vines and trees gently rise to the sea, in sandy soils, rich in fossils.
An extraordinary territory in which the company wanted to settle in the last decade to deepen the knowledge of another historic red grape of the south, Primitivo.
